Last night FT met up with the homies Josh & Sober and they showed us this dope video that Josh had been working on talking to Sober about his work as a DJ. The video is really cool and a testament to the hard work Sober has been putting in for Dallas. From thebocalibre.com

Beyond hype and music selection I saw real passion… I really just wanted to capture who Will was behind the tables, behind “DJ Sober”. I think a lot of people build a perception based on buzz. But I wanted to capture truth! I’ve learned that to see who people really are, it’s done behind closed doors. Behind the spotlight! Hopefully, you get a little glimpse of what I saw in the midst of a months worth of shooting.

After three and a half years of living in LA, we are making our way back to Dallas for a while. Mae and I started Fresherthan here in LA and have learned a lot and love this city but just really feel like we need to make a change in our lives. We have talked about moving but really couldn’t figure out where we wanted to go. We talked about a few different cities including New York, Chicago and Austin but we couldn’t really figure out where we wanted to live. We want something new, neutral and a somewhere that is a great place to learn as much as we’ve learned here and in Texas. So we decided to get off of our ass and go SOMEWHERE. We chose Dallas for the most obvious reasons: it’s cheap and we have GREAT family there.

Once you get past the smog, traffic and assholes, LA is a great city. I actually really love LA but living here can be a pain in the ass. I will miss all of the great food, parties and people I’ve met. I am definitely going to miss Mae’s family, GCS crew and our FT fam, Amber and Luke. But fuck it, we’re young, have so much drive and so many goals that we want to meet. We really can’t afford to get comfortable and get stuck. I am really confident that this is a great move and will be a perfect stepping stone to taking over the rest of the world. Mae is from here so this is a much harder move for her, but for me it’s returning home. Or is it? Dallas has changed a lot, my friends have become different people just as I have and it really feels like a different city than the one I left.

All we can hope for is making some great moves with Fresherthan and our friends in Dallas. We hope everyone in LA continues to support us as we will continue to support and represent you.

Starting off the new year the right way, Fresherthan is teaming up with Dallas based record label, Mega Royal Records. Today’s Christmas wish list comes from Fresherthan homie Ron. Ron is awesome. He will buy you beers until you get too drunk to drive and then drive you home. Respect.

Now this is tough for me to write as some of the things I’ve been wishing for (A Dessa album, a new Soulcrate album, Inglorious Basterds on Blu-Ray) have come or will be arriving soon. And some of the things I do want (The Droid phone, a Flip cam, Natalie Portman, Rosario Dawson) I will end up getting or can’t ever get.

But there are 3 things I do hope I can get this Xmas……..

1. A valid reason for traffic. I do understand that there’s a ton of cars here in L.A., but to ALWAYS have traffic is something I don’t comprehend. There’s the same traffic at 7 A.M. as there is at 11 P.M.. Isn’t there a recession?? Aren’t there a lot of people not working?? And don’t give me the “there was an accident” excuse. Accidents have some part to play in this, but NOT ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!

2. Now if I can’t get my number one wish, then this one will make me smile like a priest at a cub scout convention………..the power of flight. This way if there is traffic I can just bust a Superman move away from getting to where I need to be. This would save me time, and since I wouldn’t be using a car or public transportation I would be the one and only true “green” commuter out there.

3. The death, well maybe death is too much……….the end of having to see two of my most hated individuals: Jared from Subway and The Verizon Guy in any ads. Yes Jared we know you lost a gazillion pounds on Subway and props to you on that, but dude you have no charisma and your 15 minutes ended around the time William Hung’s did. And now the “Verizon Guy.” Do you have to ask everyone on the planet “can you hear me know????”…Dude even pops up on Spanish TV and says “Me escuchas???”……The next time I hear you asking some one of they can hear you I hope its hearing you scream in pain as your days are about to end…………..

Giving is still better than receiving. I found the best secret amazing things for friends this year. My family will give me clothes I won’t wear, and if I’m lucky some gift cards for things like gas, and books. But a girl can always wish right?

Hello, my name is Objektiv One. If I could have anything in the whole wide world for Christmas it would be a giant laser tiger. This tiger would be specially bred to shoot lasers out of its eyes and be extraordinarily large. I would also like a tuxedo and a beaver skin top hat so when accompanying my laser tiger in public I represent myself and laser tiger in the most professional manner.

My reasons for wanting this specific gift is because a laser tiger and tuxedo would solve all of my problems in life. It would make me look dashing, handsome and regal. On the other hand people would fear me when I wanted to be feared. It would also solve my transportation situation. In this day and age spending money on gas is getting bothersome and a laser tiger would always be available to transport me where I needed to go. Laser tiger could solve my financial instabilities as well because with laser tiger I would always have work. We could do all sorts of tasks like fight wars, protect people, look awesome, be in the circus, rob people, laser beam into bank vaults, and hold people for ransom with said laser beams. Not to mention with the addition of my tuxedo I could be prepared for all types of social situations like weddings, funerals, silent film acting, and possibly even being knighted. Basically, not having a laser tiger, tuxedo, beaver skin top hat combo is making my life really hard.I have sketched up an image below of myself with the laser tiger and tuxedo to illustrate the power and nobility that having this gift would achieve.

Yesterday we went with the homie Benjie to their last minute TH Labor Day bbq. Since the original party got canceled, this one was just a friends and family type deal. Check out the photos from that at The Hundreds. Afterwords we came back to the FT house and hooked up some bbq of our own. Yesterday at the Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood, Nestle held a regional Cupcake Challenge. We couldn’t make it so we decided to have our own challenge here at the house. We called up Benjie and threatened to kidnap his girlfriend if he didn’t come bake the best cupcake he could. He kicked our ass with a fantastic Tiramisu cupcake but had good competition with Mae’s Strawberry Chocolate cupcake and my Reese’s Peanut Butter cupcake. Good times.
