Growing up and living in Texas most of my life, I feel I missed out on the opportunity to wear summer jackets. In Dallas the summer heat is scorching and it’s usually around 80 degrees in the rain. Six years ago I moved to Southern Cali and their fair weather was a life changer! I spent 2 more years in Dallas and have now found myself back in SoCal. My time away from the coast wiped away the memory of the fantastic summers and as it gets closer, I’m excited to pick up some fresh new summer fashion.
I keep randomly stumbling upon some really rad jackets that I think will be great for the summer so I thought I would share my list of mens summer jackets for 2012. A few of these are a bit out of my budget but I’ve included something for everyone on this list.
Baracuta G9 Harrington

Boss Black Tapontz Windbreaker

Original Penguin Piece of Work
The Original Penguin Piece of Work jacket is probably my favorite on this list and the best part is that it’s affordable. This polyblend jacket is lightweight and has a great, simple look for any occasion. It’s also on sale right now! ($125 $69.85)
House of Billiam Varsity
This Soulland x House of Billiam collaboration varsity jacket is super fresh. There’s an all black version of this but the navy/cream color way just looks so much more classic to me. You can’t go wrong with a great varsity like this! Check out the other color way here. (£350.00)($565.00)
Obey Varsity
The Obey Varsity was the first jacket that got me started this season. I happened across it in a store, tried it on and had to run away because it’s dangerously affordable. The jacket fits really well and is the perfect weight for refreshing summer nights. ($106)
Original Penguin Ratner Jacket
The Original Penguin Ratner jacket made this list as my favorite colored jacket. Ideally this would be my backup jacket after picking up one of the others. The only problem with this jacket is picking a color since it comes in blithe, deep mint & poppy red. Check out the other colors here. ($98 $69)
