When DC comics started talking about releasing prequel comics to the Alan Moore masterpiece Watchmen, I was incredibly skeptical that anything good would come of it. Taking what many consider to be the greatest comic book of all time, and using it for a cheap cash in.
Now however, DC has announced the creative teams working on the books, and I have to say, I’m impressed. Featuring nine Eisner award winning writers and artists, these books are beginning to look promising.
- The Comedian: Writer: Brian Azzarello (100 Bullets) Artist: J.G. Jones (Wanted)
- Dr. Manhattan: W: J. Michael Straczynski (Amazing Spider-man) A: Adam Hughes
- Rorschach: W: Brian Azzarello (100 Bullets) Artist: Lee Bermejo (Joker, Hellblazer)
- Minutemen: W/A: Darwyn Cooke (The Spirit, DC New Frontier)
