New Hampshire based company GourmetGiftBaskets.com broke the record for World’s Largest Cupcake, on Saturday, August 15, 2009. The GourmetGiftBaskets.com creation dealt a crushing blow to all previous record attempts, creating a 2 million calorie, 4 foot cupcake weighing in at 1,224 lbs. The super-confection was made with 800 eggs, and 200 lbs. of flour and sugar each. The cupcake was a charitable confection — slices of the world record-breaking cupcake were served to raise donations for Susan G. Komen For the Cure breast cancer foundation. I like that they decorated it with pink ribbons for the cause. Check out the videos after the jump for some footage of the baking action.
